* FINALLY ATONEMENT *

Review #3:
«No two-hour film could
ever capture all the
riches of McEwan's
masterly novel. But
Wright and Hampton's
Atonement comes
tantalizingly close, while
adding sensual delights
all its own

Newsweek,
David Ansen

does the weather make you behave badly?

«Leon Tallis: What do you say, Cee? Does
the hot weather make you behave badly?
Good heavens, you're blushing.»

Review #3:
«An unforgettable examination
of a host of dark impulses.»
San Francisco Chronicle,
Mick LaSalle

Older Briony: So, my sister and Robbie were never able to have the time together they both so longed for... and deserved. Which ever since I've... ever since I've always felt I prevented. But what sense of hope or satisfaction could a reader derive from an ending like that? So in the book, I wanted to give Robbie and Cecilia what they lost out on in life. I'd like to think this isn't weakness or... evasion... but a final act of kindness. I gave them their happiness.

I saw the movie last week. I had already read the book and I must say it is a wonderful piece of art. Both, the movie and the book. They are very, very touching. Their love story is simply perfect and terribly sad... Briony's evolution from a young girl to a brilliant writer shows us how deep her character is. I must say it is one of the movies/books of my life. Ian McEwan is a great storyteller... these characters shall remain with me until the end of my life. Thank you for coming and letting your comments in my blog. After all... Robbie and Cee touched us all.
